Worship is central to the life of our parish. Through worship we gather in community weekly to thank, praise, and dwell with God. Many people make our worship possible. Click on the any of the following committees to see how you might serve.
We welcome Acolytes of all ages and life stages! Our Acolyte Coordinator will work with children as young as five years old to instill a love of the liturgy. Adults are also welcome as Acolytes. For more information, please contact Brian Maruscsak.
Everyone is welcome to become a part of our Altar Guild! Altar Guild members prepare the Altar for all Sunday and Wednesday services as well as additional services throughout the year. They hold the vessels and adornments of God’s house in reverence and strive to be diligent in providing all that is necessary and appropriate to enhance our Worship services. For more information, please contact Ann Post.
Eucharistic Ministers wear vestments, read the Old Testament lesson, read the Prayers of the People, and assist priests with communion by serving the chalice. They also serve at funerals and other services. Two Eucharistic Ministers serve at the 10:30am service and one serves at the early service. For more information about becoming a Eucharistic Minister, please contact Kerith Lee.
Our Flower Guild seeks to glorify God with the beauty of flowers at the Altar and in the Narthex. We occasionally assist other groups to adorn the Parish Hall for special occasions.
With grateful hearts and thanks to wonderful parishioners who support our endeavors with contributions, we are able to adorn the church with flowers in accordance with the liturgical calendar. We gladly welcome new flower arrangers; the only qualifications needed are the love of flowers and the desire to glorify God with your efforts. For more information, please contact Rita Boughrum or Laraine Perrins.
Lectors read the Epistle/Second Lesson from the New Testament during a worship service. We are always looking to expand our ranks and invite all who are interested to serve in this capacity. For more information, please contact Jeff Wynia.
Vergers facilitate worship on special days by planning for and leading worship processions coordinating lay altar participation. Vergers also assist in final preparations for services and in training Thurifers. Thurifers follow the Verger with incense. For more information about Vergers and Thurifers, please contact John Haeger.
Ushers greet people as they enter the worship area (the Nave), distribute bulletins, and assist with the worship service. They also help with the orientation of newcomers. The Greeter Ministry welcomes all to Sunday services by greeting everyone as they enter the church. If you are willing to share your smile and would like to serve in either of these vital ministries, please contact Carla Johnson for more information.
